Mike Conger, President,first started in the construction industry when he was a youngster working in home renovations, and in his family's furniture and floor covering business. After completing school he worked in the pool and spa industry supervising construction projects. He then enhanced his construction knowledge by first becoming an estimator for builders at a large lumber company and secondly by serving as a project manager at a high end custom home building firm. Having gathered hands-on field, ownership, estimating and project management experience, he then decided it was time to start a company of his own. In 2003, along with his wife and partner, Isabel, he founded Grand Contracting, Inc. Since that time, Mike has assisted in the implementation of a required county licensing program for contractors, served on the Grand County Builders Association Board for the last 7 years, with the last 2 years serving as the President of the Association (having been elected by his industry peers), as well as served 2 years on the Colorado Association of Home Builders Board. He has been a judge on the Awards Committee for the 2006 and 2007 Grand County Parade of Homes, as well as, the 2008 Summit County Parade of Homes. In 2007, Mike attended the Built Green University and became a Certified Built Green Builder.
He has been featured on Home and Garden Television (HGTV) on a new program called 'Beyond the Box' highlighting one of the many creative, cost-efficient homes he has built. Mike has also been featured in several articles in the local newspaper and county magazines.
Currently, he is a participant in the Builder 20 Clubs of the National Assocition of Home Builders. He and 15 other companies from across the nation, were hand selected and approved to participate in this professional group which meets bi-annually to discuss and elevate their fiscal practices, systems, customer relations and building knowledge.
Isabel Conger, Vice-President, began her career in finance, first working in the consumer and commercial lending field and then in the accounting field. She then became an entrepeneur, co-owning two companies; an excavation/snow removal company, and a carpet cleaning company. For six years she served as the Finance Director and head of Human Relations in these companies. Isabel then returned to the corporate world working for the Denver based non-profit corporation, Mercy Housing, as the Property Manager of a 60 unit affordable housing complex in Grand County. In 2003, she joined Mike, her partner and husband, in founding Grand Contracting, combining her finance, management and business ownership skills to serve as the Vice President of Operations and Marketing.
Isabel has served on the Granby Town Board and the Grand Elk Ranch and Club Design Review Board.
Currently she is balancing her committment to Grand Contracting and the care of Mike and Isabels' 3 children.
